You can open a checking account by visiting any Alerus location.
To open an account, you need to provide:
• A valid government-issued ID (such as driver’s license, state ID, or passport)
• Your Social Security number
• Proof of address (such as utility bill or lease agreement)
• If you are under 18, you will need a parent or guardian to co-sign
Alerus’ routing number is 091300159. It’s the first set of numbers printed on the bottom of your checks, on the left side.
Before you order new checks, have our routing number (091300159), your account number, and your zip code available. Here are two ways to order checks:
• Online: Visit the Deluxe website at orderpoint.deluxe.com
• Call: Call 866.838.5301
You can find your Alerus account number on the bottom of a check, on your monthly statement, or through online banking. On a check, the account number is located to the right of the bank routing number.
1. From a desktop computer, visit login.alerus.com/signup.
2. Verify your identity.
3. Create a unique username and password.
4. Select ‘Create Account’.
5. Agree to the E-Sign disclosure and Terms of Use for our website.
6. Set up phone verification. You can select a ‘Phone Call’ or ‘Text’ to verify your identity. If you choose to receive texts, you will receive one confirming verification alerts and a second with a unique code.
