Joe Miedema joined Alerus in July 2015 and has nearly 20 years of financial industry experience, specializing in investment management, retirement planning, estate planning, and trust administration. As a lead financial advisor, Joe is responsible for the Northern Valley’s financial advisor team, in addition to working directly with clients to meet their complex and unique long-term financial objectives. Joe delivers comprehensive financial advice and collaborates with Alerus specialists to build the right team for each client’s circumstances so they can achieve and maintain financial wellness.
Joe holds Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses and holds a Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the American College of Financial Services. He also holds an American Bankers Association Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation.
Originally from Jamestown, North Dakota, Joe lives in Grand Forks, North Dakota, with his wife Missy and their two children. Joe is passionate about spending time outdoors, supporting his children’s activities, and contributing to his community. He serves on the Grand Forks Foundation for Education board of directors and is active with Grand Forks Youth Baseball, serving as a board director and volunteer coach. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and hunting with family and friends.
