Karin Taylor joined Alerus as chief risk officer in November 2018, bringing approximately 30 years of experience in the financial industry, specializing in risk management. As chief operating officer, she oversees the areas of risk management, regulatory compliance, legal, internal audit, operations, and information technology.

Before joining Alerus, Ms. Taylor served as chief risk officer at MidWestOne Bank and prior to that as chief risk officer for Central Bank, which was acquired by MidWestOne Financial Group, Inc. in 2015.

Ms. Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College and also graduated with honors from the Graduate School of Banking in 2018.
