Arizona Market President
Rob Schwister joined Alerus in 2010 as a relationship manager and was named market president for Arizona soon thereafter. Rob has over 20 years of experience in financial services and has a deep understanding of the Phoenix Metro market.
His career includes past positions as vice president and senior vice president of commercial lending at financial institutions. Prior to entering the financial industry, Rob worked for more than a decade in the manufacturing industry as a senior sales engineer for an electrical products company and as a sales manager for a pump manufacturer. His background is a valuable asset in his role as market president. He enjoys meeting business owners, learning about their companies, and helping them make sound financial decisions.
Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Additionally, he has a professional master of banking degree from Louisiana State University.
He has served on the site council for the North Ranch Elementary School of Scottsdale and the board of managers for the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley YMCA. He currently serves on the board of a new non-profit: Thunderbird Field II Veterans Memorial. He also currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Bankers Association. A native of Milwaukee, Wis., Rob resides with his wife, Suzanna, and his two children in Scottsdale.
