Tammy Hoy

Tammy Hoy joined Alerus in 1994 and has held a variety of positions, including sales lead, client service representative, financial service representative, and relationship manager. Tammy is also a licensed life insurance agent. In her current role as financial advisor, Tammy focuses much of her time on developing the company’s IRA business.
A native of Hettinger, North Dakota, Tammy holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Minnesota State University Moorhead. A desire to work with and help people steered her toward a career in banking. “My educational background helps me communicate more effectively with our clients,” she says. “It’s important to be a good listener to understand which products will be most beneficial for them.” Tammy recognizes every client’s situation is unique and she strives to simplify the process of retirement and assist with matching the client’s needs to Alerus’ products that provide the most value.
She lives in West Fargo, North Dakota, and in her spare time enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and her two children.
