As a retirement business advisor, Travis Nordby works to understand the needs and goals of his clients, then acts as a trusted advisor to provide the solutions and service that deliver the most value. Travis understands the importance of the retirement plan as an employee benefit and is acutely aware that helping employees understand the plan and use it most effectively to save money for their own retirement is vital. As such, he is passionate about plan design, plan operations, educating employees, and helping them make the best use of this employer-sponsored benefit. He also works closely with experts across Alerus to ensure business clients have access to our full suite of diversified financial services.
Travis has more than 25 years of experience in the retirement plan services industry. Travis has been with Alerus since March 2005, and has previously held roles including manager of plan services and principal retirement account administrator. His extensive expertise includes plan design and consultation, plan operations, compliance testing, employer contribution calculations including cross-testing scenarios, and 5500 preparation. He holds a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries.
Travis lives in Champlin, Minnesota, with his wife Jennifer and their four children. Travis enjoys attending his children’s various sports and activities as well as coaching youth baseball.
